This painting is inspired by the abundance of wildflowers that grow here in the countryside of Southwest France, and the delight of watching them appear throughout the season.

It is especially dedicated to the astounding number of different kinds of purple wildflowers that bloom in early summer. Wild orchids, bellflowers, and bugloss. Meadow clary, wild oregano, creeping thistle, and many more. The sun's shadows between the summer grass turning green to gold are like nature's confetti, throwing shapes into the air and on the ground. 

The fields are a celebration in summer here in Périgord, a vibrant symbol of what makes this place so special. Life thrives here at its own rhythm, a bit protected from everything. The landscape abounds with both peace and creativity.
